Welcome to the brand new PPE Society website

This is the website for Manchester University's Politics Philosophy and Economics Society. The aim of this site is to give you an idea of what the PPE society do as well as providing links to important university sites. Please explore the site by choosing one of the areas from links above or to the right.

The PPE Society is pleased to be sponsored by KPMG, one of the world's leading financial services providers. For more information about what they do as well as job opportunities, please follow the link on the right hand side.

Finally, if you want to stay up to date with the latest events the Society is hosting, or any other breaking PPE-related news, make sure you join our Facebook group! This website is just a portal and our main forum of communication is the Facebook group which you can access HERE. Through the Facebook group you can sell your old books, buy new ones, get information about next years modules from people who have taken them, get minutes of board meetings, find out about what PPE events are going on and much more.

To join the group you have to be on the University of Manchester network, which you can join on Facebook one you have received your university email address. If you have been accepted to Manchester but have not yet received your email details by Fresher’s Weeks in September we will be happy to help you.

IMP: You will also receive a large amount of information of events, talks and other PPE related things through you university email so it is crucial that you check this regularly.

Want to get involved?

We need you!

The PPE society can not function without its members. So make sure you:

  • Sign up to the PPE society at the beginning of the year so that we can claim money to put on awesome events.
  • Join the facebook group. It’s a great place to sell your old books, swap lecture notes, get in contact with your coursemates and find out what the PPE society is organising.
  • At the beginning of each year we will be looking for first year reps to give us feed back from events as well as letting us know what the rest of the first years want from future socials.

Look out for Further Information on:

PPE staff-student meetings. These yearly meetings are with representatives from all 3 disciplines. They are a great opportunity to give feedback to the staff and university about any issues you have with the course. Whether its tutorial sizes, the Arthur Lewis Building, a rubbish course or anything else, let them know what you don’t like so they can change it!!

Peer Mentoring. Sign up to do your training at the end of the academic year and become a peer mentor.
